What to buy

As your baby becomes more comfortable feeding himself you will need products that help him move onto grown up cutlery, plates and cups. The Explora range has intuitively designed products that can help your baby do just that.
Growing up
This is a fun, if not messy stage so you will need products that help keep the mess to a minimum. Our range of Explora cups are truly non spill and are guaranteed easy to drink from. Its ideal at this age to introduce a straw cup and actively encourage your baby to learn this new skill. We have three specially designed cups which have different spouts for different needs all ideal for drinking on the go. Our active straw cup comes with pop up silicone straw and is insulated to keep liquids cool, the Active sporty cup looks like a sports bottle but has the benefit of being non spill, with no need to pull open and push close the spout, this cup is great for when you are out and about. The final cup in our range is the Active Sipper this cup teaches baby to use the sipper spout which develops your baby's open cup drinking action whilst still being non spill. It also has the benefit of being insulated so keeps liquids cool as well.
Making mealtimes family time is important, our section plate and grown up cutlery set will make your little one feel part of it. To minimise the mess we have the roll n go bib and the magic mat to keep the plates in place, hopefully making mealtimes stress free!
Your baby will need about 1000 calories a day at this stage, offering snacks of fruit will help boost his calorie intake, our snack n go pot will help your little one as they can snack on the go without the worry of the snacks tipping out.

Hints & tips
- Aim to have three good healthy meals a day, but remember your baby's tummy is still small so don't worry if he doesn't finish it all.
- Ideally he should be getting at least five portions of fruit and veg a day.
- Offer lots of fluids to aid digestion, ideally water but fruit juice can be offered occasionally too.
- He should be getting around 1000 calories a day to keep up his energy levels.
- Snacking is a good way to boost your babies calorie intake if he refuses to eat at mealtimes.
- Don’t give your baby sweets or chocolate, offering fruit is the best option.
- Iron rich foods are an important part of your babies diet, however don’t give your baby iron supplements.
- Encourage family mealtimes by getting your baby to sit at the table with the rest of the family.
- If you give your baby juice, it is recommended that you do this at mealtimes only.
- Try not to worry about mess and spills. Its all part of the learning process.
