Insulated Sipper Cup with 1-Piece Valve Support
Find some answers to the most frequently asked questions about your Sippy Cup.
Are your cups and beakers dishwasher safe?
Of course! Pop them on the top shelf though. As with all plastic things they can get a bit stained and yucky-looking in the dishwasher (blame that bolognese sauce or carrot soup you had last night). If they do get discoloured there's nothing to worry about - they're perfectly safe, they just don't look as good!
My cup seems to be leaking, what could be causing this?
When assembling our straw cups, ensure that you pull the straw from the top until it fully seals into position. If the straw isn't fully secure, leaking may occur. Also ensure that the trigger is down when the cup is not in use to prevent any general leakage.
If you find that the Mealtime trainer or your spout cup is leaking, it may be due to the lid being over tightened as it can damage the screw ring inside. Be sure not to tighten too much to avoid this. Another point to note is that we also recommend storing the Mealtime Trainer upright when full as the cup is not leak proof due to its design.
Can I use valves from different cups?
Yep! Our one piece-valves can be used across our 1 piece-valve spout cups, as can our new straw cups. If interchanging straw lids, please bear in mind that they all hold different lengths of straws dependent on the size of the cup, therefore be sure to use the appropriate one otherwise the effectiveness of the cup will be impacted.
The only thing to watch out for if you’re swapping parts is the two-piece valve. This has a new fitment so can’t be used on a one piece-valve cup.
My valve sometimes comes out - what can I do?
If you take a close look you'll see four 'connectors' where you push in your one piece valve. Make sure it is pushed all the way into all four until you hear a satisfying click!
How do I clean the one piece valve?
Firstly, unscrew the lid, taking the valve out. You may need to do this by moving the valve from left to right.
Wash all parts thoroughly in warm soapy water and rinse in clean water or use a dishwasher (top shelf only) after each use. To ensure no residual soapy water is left in the valve, we recommend running further clean tap water directly into all four openings after the washing process. Additionally, our valves are suitable for sterilisation by steam (electric and microwave) or boiling (5 minutes) after the washing process.
To ensure that any excess water is removed, we recommend shaking the valve, leaving any small amount of residual clean water to dry naturally. We suggest allowing the valve to dry prior to reassembling if storing the cup away. You may also wish to store your lids away without reattaching to the base to allow air to circulate freely.
To re-assemble, place the valve back into the lid, pushing until the four sides lock into place, placing lid back on to the cup ready for use.
Can I really interchange the lids across your new cup range?
Absolutely! One of the great things about our new cup range is that it allows you to interchange the lids and handles with the bases. They are however not compatible with our older ranges of cups such as Explora or the filter cup.
